You Don't Have to Like Me by Alida Nugent

You Don't Have to Like Me is a set of autobiographical essays by the feminist comedian, Alida Nugent. Nugent discusses her experiences with a variety of subjects usually considered as "taboo", which seem to be coming to the forefront more and more in pop culture, including virginity, menstruation, drug use etc. It is refreshingly raw, and Nugent writes as if she were having a laugh with a friend.

A great introduction to womanhood and feminism, this book is clearly aimed at a younger female (late teens, early 20's), and I think it is a must-read for this age group. Nugent's refreshingly real perspective on the issues that young females face, and her accompanying advice make for an engaging, funny and informative read.
