The Girl with the lower back tattoo by amy schumer
I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I have read a lot of memoirs by female comedians, and I find some begin to blur together after a while but Amy Schumer's novel really stood out among the rest. Schumer discuses aspects of her childhood and family life, as well as lessons she has learned in relationships and on her journey to becoming a stand-up comedian. Many lessons touch on the darker and more difficult aspects of life, such as rape and chronic illness, and my respect levels did grow for Amy Schumer greatly throughout this book.
Although she's controversial, I have always liked Amy Schumer because she is so raw and unapologetic. I must say that I admire her even more as this read was a great window into her intelligence and strength. A highly recommended read for any fans!
