educated by tara westover

Having grown up in a violent and radical Mormon household, Westover was shielded from the outside world. She was taught how to work on a junkyard over quality schooling, and as a result, she formed a restricting ideology that was dated and untrue. With parents that despised the idea of her going to school, Westover managed to break away and land herself in college.
This memoir follows her story, and it is brilliant. Not only is Westover’s writing incredibly smooth, intellectual and engaging, the content of her story is bewildering, and I am grateful she shared it.
Educated is an easy five-star read that is deserving of its hype. A must-read for all.
